All the rooms have telephone, minibar, safe, tea/coffee making facility, WiFi, satellite TV, air conditioning, en suite bath or shower room and a small terrace and lounge area, in some on a separate floor to the bedroom.
The hotel serves a buffet breakfast each morning and dinner is served in the Giardino di Pietra restaurant situated inside the Castello. This is not just a hotel restaurant but a fine dining restaurant offering Sicilian specialities and international cuisine combined with sophistication of the setting in the Castello using seasonal fruit and vegetables grown just 20m from the hotel. There is also an al fresco gazebo restaurant, which is open in the summer months.
The wine bar Palmento was an original wine press located in the heart of the castle which today has been converted into a unique wine lounge, finely decorated whilst maintaining the Sicilian baroque style.
In the ground's guests will find a poolside bar, outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and private beach which is situated just 100m away and furnished with sunbeds, parasols (both extra cost) and complimentary pool/beach towels. The private Beach Club is open for guests mid June - beginning of September.
The Castello encapsulates all the warmth and character of a historical building yet with a modern elegance, illuminated in the evening by welcoming lights creating a soft and soothing light throughout the grounds. The reception offers guests hotel and local information, concierge and room service and there is WiFi in all areas and suites.
The Wellness Centre and Spa has jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, and offers guests a range of massages, oriental therapies, holistic treatments, facials and body scrubs, mud treatments, manicures and pedicures, thermal baths and much more (extra cost).
Castello San Marco is situated on the north east coast of Sicily between the Ionian Sea, Mount Etna and the cosmopolitan and historic town of Taormina 11km to the north. The historic town of Acireale famous for its churches, cathedral, art and paintings is 30km to the south. Rifugio Sapienza to access Mount Etna is 41km and it is 13km to Alcantara River Park with national parkland, rushing river, waterfalls, gorges, volcanic rocks and small beach areas.
In the shadow of Mount Etna, the town of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia is just 5km away, situated along a river and largely rural and agricultural, with citrus fruit, flowers and plants being important to the economy, along with tourism and therefore has a selection of shops, cafe bars and restaurants/pizzerias.
