The Villa Accommodation

Located in a quiet residential area, Casa Blu is a charming villa arranged on one floor with all white décor and modern furnishings giving a fresh and airy atmosphere being directly on the sea front. 

It comprises of a living room leading onto the outside terrace, well equipped kitchen, 1 double bedroom with shower room, 1 twin bedroom and further shower room. The outside terraces lead into the living area and through to the kitchen and to both bedrooms.

The villa is equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, DVD and CD players, hairdryer, cot, highchair and mosquito nets in the bedrooms, The kitchen has electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, washing machine and iron.

The Garden & Facilities

The villa prides itself on its beautifully planned outdoor area with shaded terraces with comfortable sofas, chaises longue, armchairs and dining area with barbecue, table and chairs for guests to relax and to dine al fresco savouring the wonderful views over the low rocks and sparkling sea water beyond. 

The sea is just a few metres away and ideal for swimming and snorkelling off the rocks. The villa provides beach chairs and parasol and there is an outside shower.

Extra services at the villa include a cook (€150 + receipts), maid service (€10, minimum 2 hours), personal shopper and boat rental and boat trips can be arranged (all extra cost).

The beach, 10m from the villa, is rocky but there is a sandy beach 1km away. There is a shop for everyday needs 700m away, restaurant 900m and further shops, banks, restaurants in the town of Cassibile 3km away. There is a daily market in Syracuse 17km away.

Activities available locally include tennis at Avola (8km), diving in Syracuse (15km), golf at Syracuse (20km), horse riding at Rosolini (40km) and it is possible to visit the UNESCO Val di Noto World Heritage Site with the Baroque towns such as Noto (40km), Modica (60km) and Ragusa (80km).

The Local Area

Casa Blu is located in Fontane Bianche with stunning beach with white sand and clear, shallow water, suitable for children. It is possible to hire sunbeds and parasols on the sandy beach (€18 per day) and there is a beach restaurant.

Casa Blu is also an ideal base for discovering the artistic and architectural delights of south east Sicily and the Baroque towns such as Syracuse, Noto, Modica, Ragusa-Ibla, all part of the UNESCO cultural heritage. Other places to visit include lively Catania, charming Taormina, the characteristic fishing villages of Portopalo and Marzamemi, the nature reserves of Cavagrande del Cassibile and Vendicari, the beach at Calamosche, the natural park of Etna and the island of Capo Passero.

Casa Blu is approximately 16km south of Syracuse, a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site and a city rich in Greek and Roman architecture which Cicero once considered to be ‘the most beautiful of all the Greek cities’. It is home to one of the greatest ancient Greek Theatres dating back to the 5th century BC and large enough to hold an audience of up to 15,000. This theatre draws history enthusiasts from all over the world and is still used to this day in the annual Greek Theatre Festival.

With other attractions such as the rocky Necropolis of Pantalica, the 3rd century Roman Amphitheatre and the archaeological museum as well as a variety of shops, restaurants and bars, it is possible to combine culture and shopping.

Casa Blu, having white décor, is like a Greek villa with wonderful views from its terrace through to the blue sea.  Although it doesn’t have a pool, it is literally a stone’s throw from a rocky beach from where guests can swim in the clear blue sea. The villa has lovely al fresco terraces for dining and relaxing, yet it is also a great location to explore the local area and to sightsee in this fascinating area of Sicily.
