The Accommodation

The guest rooms are arranged on the first, third and fifth floors, serviced by a lift.  

All the rooms are light and spacious with wooden furniture and the choice of double, triple or quadruple rooms with en suite shower room, air conditioning/heating, TV, telephone, minibar, kettle (on request), hairdryer and safe. 

The Restaurant & Bar

On the rooftop there is a covered breakfast area and restaurant with a panoramic terrace with wonderful views over Palermo. Every morning you can enjoy a typical Italian or continental breakfast.

The Seven Restaurant offers new delicious recipes researched by the Chef and showcases Sicilian cuisine with an extensive a la carte menu (extra cost, open to non-residents).  

The rooftop bar offers cocktails, hot drinks and homemade desserts, with board games available for entertainment.

The Facilities

The reception offers guests hotel and local information.  There is  a shuttle bus to Mondello beach, excursions and guided tours are available (all extra cost). There is a garage close by (approx. €15/18pd) and on street parking for free. The Ambasciatori is located in the limited traffic zone, there is a fee of €5 per day to take any car into this zone, this is paid locally.

There is a fitness room reserved for guests of the hotel which is free of charge.

The Local Area

Hotel Ambasciatori is situated in the very heart of the city centre of Palermo, which is situated in the north east of Sicily in a wide bay underneath Monte Pellegrino (660m).

Since it was founded under the Phoenicians, the city has witnessed a number of civilisations come and go, each leaving its own mark. It is therefore unsurprising that Sicily’s capital features a range of historical points of interest such as the impressive cathedral, Palace of the Normans, grand neoclassical Massimo theatre, Politeama Piazza and theatre and Pretoria Square, which can be accessed from the hotel either by guided tour, on foot, by taxi or by bus.  

Alongside its historical charm, Palermo also has a wide range of restaurants, café bars, shops, markets and Mondello beach (13km from the hotel).

Huw's View

Hotel Ambasciatori is strategically located in the historical centre of Palermo with easy access on foot to the monuments, restaurants and shops.

The hotel is a fantastic base to come back to and relax as the rooftop bar and restaurant are a real feature of the hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel as part of a tour to explore this diverse and interesting city. I would not recommend having a car but hiring one after your stay.
