The Accommodation

The Baglio has a total of 10 guest rooms: 7 double rooms, 1 triple room and 2 quadruple rooms. The rooms are simply furnished with family furniture and decorated in traditional Sicilian style and they all have satellite TV, telephone, air conditioning and en suite bath or shower room.

There are also 5 spacious apartments created in the original barn, 1 of which is 60m² and able to accommodate up to 6 people with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchenette and 2 terraces. The other apartments have 1 or 2 bedrooms with bathroom, kitchenette with lounge area and 2 terraces, ideal for families or larger groups.

The Restaurant

The Agriturismo is surrounded by acres of farmland which supplies the Farmhouse restaurant with freshly grown products to create delicious typical Sicilian dishes including green olive pate, dressed olives and sun-dried tomatoes, accompanied by the local Zangara wine.

Breakfast includes a selection of locally made cakes, jams and seasonal fruits. Guests are able to purchase some of the local products produced on site, such as olive oil.

The Facilities

There is a pretty outdoor swimming pool with a terrace surrounded by beautiful olive, carob and pistachio trees with pathways that weave through the grounds. The real beauty of the estate is its tranquillity immersed in a vast expanse of olive trees, vineyards and 11 hectares of woodland. However, there is table tennis, a boules court and guests can discover the estate by following paths on foot, by bicycle, by car or on an old tractor and watch the harvest, the picking of the olives and other farm activities.

The Local Area

Agriturismo Baglio Vecchio is situated in the beautiful countryside of Castelvetrano, a farming town in the province of Trapani in the south west region of Sicily.

Castelvetrano is situated approximately 12km away from the hotel and is concerned primarily with woodworking and the cultivation of olive trees yet also has a number of monuments that guests can visit, such as the 16th century Chiesa di San Giovanni Castelvetrano, Chiesa Madre and the town museum.

Castelvetrano is also14km from the Selinunte Archaeological Park, a fantastic location for history enthusiasts with temples, sanctuaries and alters covering approximately 1,740km². The coast is about 15km away, Marsala 50km and Trapani 96km.

Agriturismo Baglio Vecchio is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to escape a hectic lifestyle and spend some time enjoying the sun in peace.

Although the town of the Castelvetrano is just 9km away from the hotel, the atmosphere is such that you feel well and truly tucked away in the rolling green hills of Sicily.

The hotel is very relaxed with a 'home away from home' feel with welcoming staff and the Farmhouse restaurant serves a range of delicious seasonal dishes using local produce.

Car hire is essential to explore the local area including the neighbouring family estate.
