Hotel Baia di Ulisse offers modern facilities including a lovely pool and now has a spa with indoor pool.  

A real feature of this hotel is that it is on the beach and is an ideal base for both couples and families to combine sightseeing with relaxation in the Mediterranean sunshine.  

It is ideal for those who wish to visit the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento, just 8km from the hotel. Car hire is essential for exploring the local area and eating out in the town of San Leone, just 4km away.

Accommodation

The guest rooms arranged over two floors (some accessed via a lift) furnished with simplicity and elegance. Most of the rooms have a balcony, some with pool and sea views (supplement), some overlook the gardens. Some rooms interconnect therefore suitable for families.

There is the choice of Standard or Deluxe rooms and there are 2 Suites.  All the rooms have en suite shower room with hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar and TV. 

The main hotel restaurant overlooks the pool and serves a buffet breakfast and an a la carte dinner menu (extra cost, April-October) offering typical local dishes, presented with style and originality. During the summer, guests can have dinner on the outdoor terrace in the pinewood near the beach which is also open for an a la carte lunch (extra cost, open high season only).

For drinks throughout the day and evening there is a lounge bar in the hotel, a bar on the pool terrace and another bar located by the restaurant in the pine wood leading to the beach (open only in high season).

There is a 24 hour reception offering hotel and local information and excursions. In front of the main hotel building, the swimming pool (open June to September) has a terrace with sunbeds, parasols and small bar.  

Wide cobbled pathways lead through the immaculate gardens and pine wood to the private beach, just 150m from the guest rooms with gently sloping sand into the Mediterranean Sea. There are sun chairs and parasols provided for hotel guests (€15 per person per day, 15/06-15/09) and bowls for the more active plus pedaloes and canoes to rent from the nearby beach club. 

Hotel services include a shuttle on request and parking (subject to availability).

The Wellness Centre offers guests a large heated indoor Jacuzzi, Hammam, sauna and massage and facial/body treatments. It is open from the 15th April, Wednesday to Sunday, 9am-1pm and 4pm-8pm. During the winter months, the opening days of the Spa may change.

The nearest town to the hotel is San Leone, 4km away with a range of shops, restaurants and pizzerias.

Agrigento, 12km away, is a wonderful Sicilian town and provincial capital. Defined as 'the most beautiful city among mortals’, the ancient 'Akragas' was founded in 581BC and it briefly became one of the most important cities of Magnae Graecia situated 230m above sea level, on a plateau overlooking the sea, with two nearby rivers and a ridge to the north offering a degree of natural fortification. It was the birthplace of many historians and today rich in both history and culture.

Located just outside of Agrigento, 8km from the hotel, the Valley of Temples is arguably one of the most beautiful and historically interesting locations in Sicily, characterised by the remains of ten temples dating back to the 5th century BC and the Temple of Concordia being one of the best preserved temples of the Greek civilization today. It became part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 being one of the most outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, one of the main attractions in Sicily as well as a national monument of Italy.

Porto Empedocle is 14km away where ferries depart to the Pelagie Islands of Lampedusa, Linosa and Lampione and the dramatic white cliffs at Scala dei Turchi are 18km from the hotel.
