The Accommodation

The guest rooms and suites are arranged in the main hotel building and also in 2-storey villa’s in the gardens.  All the rooms are furnished in typical Tuscan style and have balcony, terrace or patio with garden or bay view, en suite bathroom with bath and/or shower, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, satellite TV, telephone, safe, air conditioning, minibar and WiFi. 

Standard Room (18m², sleeping up to 4) double bedroom with en suite bath or shower room and a furnished terrace or patio.

Classic Room (18-23m², sleeping up to 4) double bedroom with en suite bath or shower room and a furnished terrace or patio.

Sea View Room (18-20m², sleeping up to 3) double bedroom with en suite bath or shower room and terrace or balcony, third bed or cot available on request.

Sea View Suite (38-40m², sleeping 2) double bedroom and separate living area with en suite bathroom with hydromassage bath and terrace or balcony.

Family Room (30-40m², sleeping up to 4) double/twin bedroom and sofa bed in the lounge, en suite bath/shower room and a terrace, patio or balcony.

The Restaurants & Bars

The main Fontana restaurant is on the first floor with large outdoor terrace overlooking the bay and serving a generous buffet breakfast and dinner. Please note: a dress code applies in the evening with no shorts allowed.

The less formal Capannina beach restaurant and bar is open at lunchtime serving drinks and light snacks and in the evening serving an à la carte menu (open end of June - early September on reservation, extra cost). The Pool Bar serves drinks, sushi and vegetable dishes throughout the day and the Lobby Bar is open in the evenings until late.

The Facilities

There is an outdoor seawater swimming pool, small spa pool and jacuzzi pool all overlooking the beach with sunbeds, parasols and beach towels provided for hotel guests both round the pools and on the beach.

The hotel has 2 tennis courts (one synthetic surface, one clay), well equipped gym and small beauty centre (treatments extra cost).  A 9-hole golf course is available at the nearby sister Hotel Hermitage 6km away.  Boat rental, sailing courses, diving, mountain biking can be arranged and there are walking trails across the island. Instructors are available for swimming, tennis, pilates, aerobics and sailing (some extra cost).

The complimentary mini club with daily activities for children 4-12 years is open from mid June to end August, supervised by qualified staff and there is babysitting on request (extra cost).

The Local Area

Hotel Del Golfo is located on the edge of the small village of Procchio on the central north coast of Elba, 10km from the ferry port of Portoferraio and 3km from Marino di Campo airport.  

It is in an ideal location to explore the island including Portoferraio, the main town on the island and Monte Capanne (1,019m) the highest point on the island, reached by cable car for superb views of Elba.  

Being just 27km long and 5km wide, guests can explore the island easily including Napoléonic houses, De Laugier barracks, Linguella Roman villa, markets, historic churches, vineyards and the lovely coastline with numerous lovely beaches.

Hotel del Golfo is situated right on the beach at Procchio, only a short walk from the village centre and just 10km west of Portoferraio town and ferry port on the north coast of Elba.  

It is a good choice for families looking for a beach holiday with plenty of activities and for those looking for a base to explore the island of Elba. The rooms are spacious and brightly coloured and there are 2 excellent restaurants and 3 bars to choose from. The lovely beach is a real feature of the hotel along with the pool area.  

We recommend this hotel for a few days as a combination holiday or for a longer stay.
