The Apartment Accommodation

The L-shaped building is clad in wood and stone combining tradition and innovation. The apartments are arranged on the ground and first floor accessed by stairs. Each apartment (sleeping up to 4) has contemporary furniture and decor, an open plan living/dining room with sofa bed, satellite TV, WiFi, air conditioning and a well-equipped kitchenette with fitted units, fridge/freezer, hob, oven, sink, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle and Nespresso machine. 

From the living room, french doors lead to both a front and rear furnished patio or balcony both with table and chairs.  A door also leads through to a small hall with storage cupboard with safe, iron, ironing board and extra dining chairs and to a double bedroom and a shower room.

The Facilities

The residence has a large gravel car park from where paths lead to the apartments and to the irregular shaped pool surrounded by sunbeds and lovely secluded lawned gardens with flowering shrubs and olive trees and glimpses of the sea and Isola Bella below.  

Please note: the apartments are open all year round but the shared pool is open from April to October.

The Local Area

Mon Repos Avenir has an excellent position halfway down the hillside from Taormina's historic centre and up from the picturesque sea front at Taormina Mare. From the apartments, guests can walk up 2.5km through the Botanical Gardens to the centre of Taormina or down 1.5km via the road to the beaches of Isola Bella, Mazzarò, Spisone and Capo S. Andrea.

Being set high up on the hillside, the town of Taormina enjoys dramatic views across the Straits of Messina to the Italian mainland and also across the Bay of Naxos to Mount Etna beyond. It is a very cosmopolitan town with excellent shops, designer boutiques, restaurants and café bars lining cobbled streets and alleys high above the picturesque beaches below. 

There are several historic attractions such as the famous ancient Greek Theatre which draws artists and tourists from all over the world. The town of Taormina is a truly enchanting part of Sicily with the town being rich in atmosphere and culture with local delicacies and festivals to experience, while the coastline is enveloped by panoramic views and pretty coves, making Taormina a truly must visit destination.

With lovely gardens, pool, modern accommodation and close proximity to the centre of Taormina, this is an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful town and relax either at the apartments or on the nearby beaches.  

The apartments benefit from a secluded and quiet position and are therefore a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of Taormina. Suitable for both couple and families, the apartments are light and airy and well planned with open plan lounge/kitchen leading out to front and rear patio or balcony enjoying views of the Mediterranean gardens and pool with some glimpses through to the sea. 

The apartments can sleep up to 4 with a double bedroom, sofa bed in the lounge and the possibility of an extra child bed or cot. 

Car hire is recommended for those who do not wish to walk up and down steep hills to access the town and beaches.
