Baglio La Porta has a magical isolated position with wonderful views over the sea and nature reserve. 

The original farm buildings have been recreated into stylish guest rooms, with vine and ivy draped terraces, arranged around the central courtyard.  The modern restaurant has amazing views and serves delicious typical Sicilian cuisine. 

This hotel will suit both couples and families looking for a small boutique hotel off the beaten track and surrounded by nature with the possibility of hiking, climbing and bird watching! 

Car hire is essential for exploring the local area and accessing the beautiful beach at San Vito Lo Capo.

Accommodation

The Baglio was originally built in the 18th century and its farm buildings have been transformed into a boutique hotel set around a central courtyard. The guest rooms have exposed brick and wooden beams yet are beautifully designed with stylish modern furnishings. 

They all have either a terrace or small private garden and have en suite shower room, flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making, WiFi, air conditioning, telephone and minibar. The Suites are beautifully designed, elegantly furnished and have a living area.

The Restaurant at Baglio La Porta is a real feature of the hotel with picture windows and panoramic terrace overlooking the Gulf of San Vito Lo Capo. 

A breakfast buffet includes a selection of croissants, homemade cakes, cheese and salami, fresh fruits, cereals, milk, tea, infusions, fruit juices and organic honey. Light lunches are available at the poolside and a set dinner menu is offered in the restaurant featuring delicious Sicilian and Italian specialities.

Set in lush Mediterranean gardens with many flowering shrubs and trees, the outdoor swimming pool has terrace surround with sun loungers and gazebo’s for shade.  

The hotel has parking and the reception offers excursions to the seaside town of San Vito Lo Capo and trekking, mountain biking and climbing in Zingaro Nature Reserve, Monte Monaco and Monte Cofano.  It is also possible to visit the coast including Faraglioni Rock at Scopello and the beautiful beaches of Uzzo and Tonnarella dell'Uzzo.

There is a Relax Area open every day from 3pm-9pm and is equipped with a jacuzzi and deckchairs.

The hotel is situated in a natural setting overlooking the Natural Reserve of Zingaro, with wonderful views yet completely immersed in an unspoilt corner of the Mediterranean. Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve encompasses 7km of rocks, caves, beaches and hiking trails.

San Vito Lo Capo is 8km from Baglio La Porta, famous for its stunning long white sandy beach lapped by turquoise sea on the north west tip of the island.  It is a small yet very popular holiday town in the province of Trapani and boasts a number of bars and trattorias open until late in the summer.

Several festivals take place throughout the year, such as a Kite festival, climbing festival and the annual Couscous festival in September when top chefs compete to create the best Couscous dish and celebrate the diverse history of Sicilian cuisine.

This area of Sicily is favoured by hikers and climbers due to the impressive mountains and caves nearby, some of which can be visited on foot or admired from the coast. There is a magnificent clifftop walk from San Vito to Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve (11km) or it can be accessed by boat. The walk leads up the slopes of Monte Speziale (913m) and encompasses panoramic views, Mediterranean macchia, some 40 different species of bird and some trails down to beautiful deserted coves and beaches.

The surrounding area of natural beauty has several towns rich in history and culture including Erice, Trapani, Palermo, Monreale and Segesta Archaeological Site boasting some great examples of ancient Greek architecture.  Boat trips are available from Castellammare del Golfo to visit the Egadi Islands and Ustica.
