The Accommodation

The rooms are arranged over 7 floors, accessed by lift and  include Classic, Superior and Deluxe options plus 1 Junior Suite and 2 Suites.  They are all equipped with en suite bathroom with shower, hairdryer, telephone, WiFi, LED TV with satellite and Sky channels, desk, minibar, safe, tea and coffee making facilities and air conditioning. All the guest rooms and suites were restyled in 2022.

 All the rooms have double bed (twin beds on request except in the Junior Suites and Suites), parquet wood flooring, resin or marble shower/bath rooms, contemporary furniture created by local designers exclusively for this hotel.

Superior Room double bedroom with an en suite walk-in shower and coffee/tea making facilities, DVD player, trouser press, scales and additional amenities.

Deluxe Room double bedroom and large en suite walk-in shower, coffee/tea making facilities, DVD player, trouser press, scales and additional amenities and offer the possibility of a third bed.

Junior Suite double bedroom with a living area, TV, an in-room sensory shower with separate bathroom and the possibility of a third bed.

Exclusive Suite (Agata Suite and Corallo Suite) both on a separate floor with refined and elegant décor, contemporary art works, art lighting and fragrance defusers. They also feature a separate living area to relax or work, a private sun terrace to relax or enjoy breakfast under the warm Palermo sun, an en suite bathroom with sensory shower and jacuzzi for two, Nespresso machine with a selection of capsules, additional amenities and offer the possibility of a third bed.

The Facilities

In the hotel reception and public areas there are ancient paintings and Biedermeier furniture with sophisticated fabrics combined with modern artwork and state-of-the-art design. The 24 hour reception and concierge service offers room service, national newspapers, wake-up call service, laundry and ironing service, information on excursions, local beach access (operated by a third party) and parking in security surveillance garage (some facilities are an extra cost, some services not 24 hours). 

On its magnificent penthouse roof garden, the hotel offers guests an elaborate buffet breakfast with fresh local produce from local bakeries including Sicilian specialities, traditional biscuits, cakes, jam tarts, ricotta cheese delicacies like cannoli or cassata.  Additionally, there is a selection of fresh seasonal fruit, yoghurt, cereals, Sicilian delicacies including bread, cheeses and cold cuts, plus some hot dishes made on demand (some extra cost). Combining food, mixology and wine, together with an incredible view of the city.

The hotel lounge bar, open all day, is located on the hotel roof garden and offers a selection of hot and cold drinks plus light snacks throughout the day and evening with an amazing panoramic view.

A new spa area will be opening for 2024 featuring a relax area, jacuzzi pool, sensory showers, Turkish bath, Finnish sauna, beauty treatments and massages. The spa area can be hired for private use. There is also a fitness room where it is possible to book sessions with personal trainers (extra cost).

The Local Area

Plaza Opéra is situated in the heart of the shopping and business area of Palermo, a few steps away from Viale della Libertà and within walking distance of the Politeama theatre (150m) and the Massimo theatre (800m).  The historical city centre and sightseeing area are about 1km away.

Since its foundation under the Phoenicians, the city of Palermo has witnessed an astonishing number of civilisations come and go, each having left its own individual mark. It is therefore unsurprising that Sicily’s capital features a wide range of historical points of interest such as the cathedral, Palace of the Normans, Massimo theatre, Politeama theatre and Pretoria Square which can be visited either on foot or by car/bus.

Alongside its historical charm, Palermo also features a wide range of restaurants, shops, bars, cafés and beaches, including Mondello beach with watersports, making it a fantastic location to spend a couple of days or longer holiday.

Hotel Plaza Opéra is a 4 star design hotel which has been restyled to offer more technological, comfortable and contemporary guest rooms and suites with new SmartTV LED full HD 4K TVs, increased desk and bedside USB and power sockets, and feature oak and fenix furniture, design lamps and fabrics with bold colours.

The restyling of the hotel included creating a rooftop lounge and restaurant on the 8th floor with a thermally-insulated glass and steel pergola, with an iconic black and white marble floor, customized glass and steel tables and design chairs and sofas.The buffet breakfast includes Italian delicacies and then in the evening the fine dining Osservatorio Restaurant & Mixology bar offers stunning views over Palermo.

This hotel is ideally situated close to Palermo's iconic Piazza Politeama and its shopping/entertainment area.  

We do not recommend car hire whilst staying in Palermo but if you do arrive by car the hotel has a private garage (extra cost).
