Aviation Fuel Concerns: Reassurance for Travellers

Your Holiday Plans Remain on Track

✨ Travel Reassurance from ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents)

You will probably have seen coverage on TV and read in the media regarding the effect that the reported shortage of aviation fuel is having on air travel. Unfortunately, much of this coverage has been an exaggeration of the true situation - which has understandably created widespread concern to the travelling public. In contrast to the portrayal by certain media outlets, the following statement from the Chief Executive of ABTA provides a more accurate overview of the situation:

"We really don't want people worrying about their holidays; planes are taking off daily and people are continuing to get away on their holidays. The Government and airlines are clear that there isn't a problem with fuel supply. If you have a holiday booked in for the coming months - including the May half term - we expect it to go ahead as planned.

"Whilst there have been reports about cancellations globally, these amount to less than one percent of overall flights."

In 2005, I moved to Corsica after having first visited the island in 1998. After having spent all my previous professional life in the property industry, I made a total career change and took a job as a representative of a UK tour operator, progressing through the following years to become that company’s island manager in 2010. In 2013 I met Huw and Alison and was offered an opportunity to help them create and develop the Just Corsica brand and, subsequently, the Just Sicily brand and my current role is the Overseas Director for the company, continuing to oversee and manage the evolution of all three of our products.
